First Filipina Karateka To Win A Gold Medal

Filipino-Japanese Junna Tsukii, a Filipina karateka, is off to a strong start this year, ranking third in the latest World Karate Federation (WKF) rankings.

The 31-year-old Filipino karateka moved up from fifth to third in the world rankings with a total of 3037.50 points, trailing Venezuela's Yorgelis Salazar (1st) and Turkiye's Serap Ozcelik Arapoglu (2nd).

The first Filipina athlete to win a World Games gold medal took to social media to share her recent ranking improvement.
