Filipino cinema made a remarkable impression at the 2024 Wu Wei Taipei International Film Festival, with ten Filipino actors and director Njel de Mesa receiving top honors. During the Philippine Night Awarding Ceremony on September 1, de Mesa's comedy film Malditas in Maldives won the prestigious Best Picture award.
